a. Company’s mission statement
Armory of Harmony creates musical instruments made from decommissioned firearms and supports strong music programs in schools. As part of advocating for safe learning environments these up-cycled instruments are also used by major recording artists.

They are an affiliate member of the Grammy Music Education Coalition and have partnerships with over a dozen instrument manufacturers to grow their selection of instruments.Beyond funding programs they are also working with schools directly, both on anti-violence initiatives and powering radical (and musical) collaboration.

d. Marketing Strategy
We are collaborating with musicians and artists to create a broad spectrum of support from a variety of genres - from opera to classical to rock to electronic and even musical theater. This musicians alliance are using their reach to advocate for the organization and work directly with us to bring more music and less guns in the lives of kids.

e. Scale/Distribution Strategy
In early December we launched nationally, adding new instrument manufacturing partners and reaching out to local law enforcement and city officials. We became an affiliate member of the Grammy Music Education Coalition and expanding our school engagement program. Our artists will be performing at the Heisman Trophy, the Grammy’s and possibly the Oscars.

As we make more instruments, we will donate them to K-12 schools across America, starting in the districts that invite us to work with them.

f. Plan for $30K prize money

More Instruments of Peace - $15K
This year we invested most of our resources to design, develop and build musical instruments in Los Angeles - working in partnership with the city, the LAPD and local material shops. We want to expand our efforts to the East Coast and help turn firearms from NYC into instruments of K-12 kids. We believe that beyond business mentorship, engagement of the Knicks and MSG in the process will help expedite the city of NY in transforming guns to instruments.

Deeper Youth Engagement - $10K
In Florida we have worked with members of our “musicians alliance” and local marching bands collaborate on music videos. This project gave students one on one time with artists and producers discuss ways to succeed in having a career in music.

Neuroscience and Music Research - $5K
We are funding studies that look at the effects of music programs in communities afflicted by violence. We would love to continue supporting this work and finding ways to unlock investment into the arts.
